New PvE LoD build
Well, LoD is back, in PvE anyway.
Personally, I think they did a pretty decent job of reverting LoD. It's certainly very strong again, but I wouldn't say it's overpowered (no more so than WoH anyway).
Comparing the new LoD to the original LoD:
- Heal amount is a little less (~10hp)
- Recharge is 1 second longer (6 instead of 5)
- 80% condition is gone
New PvE LoD build:
[light of deliverance][Dwayna's Kiss][Patient Spirit][Dismiss Condition][Cure hex][Shield of absorption][prot spirit][aegis]
LoD replaces WoH, and Patient/Kiss (whichever one you didn't already have on your bar) replaces RoF. You still have two good spot heals like before, and you add a relatively spammable party heal. Might consider keeping RoF over Patient in HM though, as it's far better there.
Thoughts?

I was thinking about LoD and I am not sure if it will be better than the current WoH bar that is common in PvE atm.
My only problem with that bar is that it doenst have a strong self heal, except Patient Spirit but that takes 2 sec to trigger.
I run Foul Feast on one of my necros so i drop Dismiss Condition for RoF.
I feel it doesn't have the flexibility of the current WoH has. Doesn't mean i wont play it though^^
Back when LoD was in its initial form, WoH still was Target Other Ally

Patient spirit is a problem. You're down to one speedy spot heal, and it can't self target. I think you need to change PSpirit for something that delivers immediate healing.

Patient Spirit is self targeting and I would drop Aegis don't need to passive skills on there.I would opt for a res if pugging or face the conseqences if a wipe happens.

Patient spirit is a nice skill... I wouldn't necessarily drop it for anything. Unless you're in a 4-person group, you should have a 2nd monk with you. Meaning the other monk can cover for you at times as well.
What I'd probably run after LoD changes are in: ZB/WoH hybrid + LoD Hybrid in PvE. Partywide from LoD, bars go up from the ZB/WoH. My woh bar actually only uses patient and woh for red bars go up.
I don't see anything wrong with using patient spirit, I actually prefer it over orison/words of comfort only because it is a 1/4th second cast.

a monk should never drop a skill for a res. EVER!
IMO - drop kiss for glyph lesser.

I just use scroll resses. Not that expensive, and I rarely have to use them. Also, when PUGs die they tend to do so in a small cluster, so its actually faster and easier to avoid party wipes with.

That bar doesn't need glyph of lesser.
You can sub out dismiss/cure for RoF if you really want it - but think about the assumptions you're making in running LoD.

That's what I was thinking too; one LoD hybrid and one WoH hybrid. This is probably what I'll do from now on in PvE.
Also, TBH, this thread was meant to be more about discussing the new PvE LoD than discussing my specific LoD build, but as always, critiques and suggestions are always welcome.
A few quick replies to some of the build comments:
- I'm not a fan of GoLE in PvE. My high set has always been enough energy for me in PvE. But I can certainly understand why some people would want to bring it (it's damn useful). The trick is squeezing it in the bar somehow. One of the two spot heals would probably be the skill to drop.
- Aegis is one of the most valuable skills you can bring in a PvE party; I almost consider it a non-negotiable skill in PvE. I look at Prot Spirit, SoA, and Aegis as a sort of "holy trinity" of PvE prots.
- Patient Spirit is a good skill, but it's definitely an acquired taste. If you're not a fan, go with something like RoF or GoLE instead. But for my money, Patient is the second best non-elite spot heal you can bring (after Kiss), with the noted exception of possibly RoF in hard mode.
And as always, this is PvE we're talking about, so run the bar that suits you and that you enjoy playing.
But what I'm curious to know is this: How many of you will be going back to LoD now in PvE? Because I can tell you that I definitely am.
PvE monking just hasn't been as fun for me since the LoD nerf. I feel that WoH made me a little bit lazy with my prots. I'd find myself thinking, "meh, screw the prot, I'll just throw a WoH or two on him when he gets low", which is a very dangerous way of playing.
I like how LoD really makes you focus on your prots, because if you don't prot correctly, LoD's healing is just too minimal to have much of an impact (and you don't have WoH to bail you out on an LoD bar). I just find it more fun to play that way.

If ur party has either good condition or hex removal on the midline, you can always drop either dismiss or cure for gole or rof.

I will continue to run WoH hybrid on my monk, but the hero monk will most likely be given a LoD build now.
